Someone told me that the young tip of this plant is edible. Putting the it into boiling water and drink it as tea, it helps the digestion problem according to Maori's remedy. I would like to get its name and find out for more information.
Yes, it looks like Koromiko – among other uses the young leaves can be chewed to alleviate both car sickness and sea sickness. The crushed leaves can be steeped in boiling water, the water then cooled and made into ice blocks. When family members get the flu, pop the ice blocks in boiling water and drink – symptoms have been known to disappear….
I think they must be referring to koromiko hebe , I cant tell from the photo but it looks similar . look up koromiko rongoa , you’ll find images and info . koromiko is good for a number of illnesses
Hi, your plant is very much like one in my garden which is Lemon Verbena which would account for your friend saying you can make a tea from it. Good luck with it.
